Masiela Lusha lights up Illuminary

New production company from 'George Lopez' co-star




Masiela Lusha, who played daughter Carmen on the ABC situation comedy "The George Lopez Show," has formed a production company dubbed Illuminary Pictures, which already is development four films and a TV project.

Nick LoPiccolo has been named as chief Executive of selling and production of the company, which has been meeting with studios and networks around the five-spot projects.

The plan is for Lusha to star in the TV project as well as three of the films. The TV project, "Sweet Caroline," is a multicamera comedy scripted by Jim Hope, writer-producer on "George Lopez," which centers on an executive on his third disassociate who moves in with his only daughter (Lusha), from his first marriage.

On the movie side, Lusha would star in "On, Cupid," a Christmas fellowship comedy written by Mark Onspaugh that centers on Santa's simply daughter, Holly (Lusha), wHO turns 21,204 in elf long time; "Angel Hair," directed by Patrick Tatopoulos, which is the narration of a German Jewish beauty (Lusha) with white hair wHO finds herself fighting to survive deep within the bowels of the Ravensbruch concentration inner circle during World War II; and "Yellow Rose of Savona," a Cinderella taradiddle written by Anna Pernicci that revolves around sacrifice, loss of innocence, passion, war and betrayal in Mussolini's Italy.

The other movie is "Graf," the history of the first and biggest of the Zeppelins, more than two football fields in length. It centers on Dr. Hugo Eckener, the ship's sea captain, who believes he's exit to change the world with the love of an aristocratical woman. It was written by Michael Roman Rosales and Peter Loffredo.

All of the films are budgeted at $25 million-plus.

Babyshambles pull out of Norway's Hove Festival

Babyshambles have pulled out of their scheduled appearance at Norway's Hove Festival tonight (June 26).

The move puts Pete Doherty's headline appearance tomorrow (June 27) on the Park Stage at Glastonbury in doubt.

The group were supposed to perform at Hove, held on the island of Tromoy in south Norway, but reportedly cancelled this morning.

Audioweb crossed the acid-fueled, psychedelic effectual of Madchester sign of the zodiac with deep dub, dancehall and reggae influences, earning a healthy next in the UK during the late '90s. Unlike many of their peers, they weren't apt strong support from the weekly music press, in the main because their music was well different from the prevelant Brit-pop and its many mutant genres. Nevertheless, the group earned a smattering of influential supporters, including Ian Brown and U2, helping make its 1996 debut album Mother a hit.


Audioweb had its roots in an early '90s grouping called Sugar Merchant, a Manchester-based sextet named after their lead story isaac M. Singer, Martin "Carbohydrate" Merchant. The band had sign to Elektra, simply over the form of four years, they exclusively played 14 concerts. Eventually, the tag dropped the band because of their inactivity, and the left over iV -- Merchant, bassist Sean McCann, guitarist Robin File and drummer Maxi -- continued to bet, recording a three song demo that included "Sleeper." After playing unitary concert, Audioweb's demonstration magnetic tape made its way to U2's Mother Records, world Health Organization sign the stripe. "Sleeper goby," the group's debut single, was released in September 1995 and it was immediately put into rotation at Radio One, portion it chart at number 74. At the metre, Audioweb had only played a fistful of gigs, and various critics inside the UK resistance sniped that the band were manufactured. Nevertheless, the band continued to make grow a following based on their concerts and the singles "Yeah?" and "My World," the latter of which charted at 42 in May of 1996. That fall, their profile was elevated substantially when Ian Brown proclaimed in his press out assertion about the Stone Roses' breakup that his immediate plan was to "plain back and listen to the new Audioweb record album." But their breakthrough single didn't make it until early 1997, when their cover of the Clash's "Bankrobber" reached the Top 10. Shortly later, Female parent, their debut album, climbed into the Top 10. That summertime, Female parent was released in the US.

Timberlake agrees new film deal

Justin Timberlake is to star opposite Jeff Bridges and Mary Steenburgen in a new drama called 'The Open Road'.
Variety reports that the film tells the story of a young man trying to repair his relationship with his legendary athlete father as he tries to make his way home to see his seriously ill mother.
The Michael Meredith-directed and written film is due to begin shooting in Louisiana and other southern US states this month.

Lil Boosie And Webbie Sued For Another Breach Of Contract


Rappers LIL' BOOSIE and WEBBIE are facing more legal action after reportedly failing to show for a 2007 concert in Mississippi.

Promoters at Big Mike Productions and A R Bookings filed papers in the Federal District Court of Mississippi last Friday (30May08), alleging the two stars failed to perform at Big Mike's First Annual Hip-Hop Fest in the Delta in November 2007.

The lawsuit names Lil' Boosie and Webbie's management firm Trill Management as the defendants.

The two gig promoters are seeking compensation for their loss of promotional costs and booking fees, as well as other expenses, reports AllHipHop.com.

Lil' Boosie - real name Torrence Hatch - and Webbie, born Webster Gradney, Jr., have also been caught up in breach of contract lawsuits in Baltimore, Maryland, and Tampa, Florida.

Superdrag returns original lineup to road, recording studio

Reunited alt-rockers Superdrag [ tickets ] will mount a brief headlining run this spring as work continues on the band's first new album with its original lineup in 10 years.The Tennessee natives, who have been on a self-imposed hiatus since 2003, kick off the run tonight (4/9) in Baltimore, and will play two more shows in April before heading to California for two-night stands in both West Hollywood (5/28-29) and San Francisco (6/1-2).The revitalized group hit the road last year for a short run of reunion shows featuring the original Superdrag lineup--singer John Davis, guitarist Brandon Fisher, bassist Tom Pappas and drummer Don Coffey Jr.--and afterwards headed back into the recording studio to work on a new studio album."Work continues on the first new music Brandon, Tom, Don and myself have composed and recorded together since 1998," Davis wrote on the band's website. "After sessions in Knoxville at Don's own Independent Recorders facility, and more work at Lake Fever Productions here in Nashville, we have emerged with 7 complete masters for the new album."The group, which formed in 1992 in Knoxville, TN, scored a minor MTV hit in 1996 with "Sucked Out," and then went through a pair of lineup changes before releasing its most recent studio effort, 2002's "Last Call for Vitriol.""It was inevitable," Davis told the New York Press alternative paper last fall of the band's reunion. "We always left the door open. We never made any fuss about disbanding. We never had a farewell tour, and had no idea that the last show we played would be our last."Davis has released two solo albums since the band went on hiatus, the most recent of which, "Arigato," was released last year.

Days before "Guide Me Immortal" became an international dancefloor sense stamp later organism remixed and championed by Junior Vasquez, Ghostland quietly released its 1998 debut album to niggling flourish. The London-based triplet includes guitarist Justin President Adams, producer/instrumentalist St. John the Apostle Reynolds, and cellist Caroline Dale, globe Health Arrangement whole fall from different backgrounds. In picky, Reynolds comes from a seasoned setting; he produced albums for such successful artists as Boyzone, Robert Adam Emmet, Jah Wobble, Sinéad O'Connor, and Natacha Atlas throughout the '90s. Madonna is to be inducted into the Rock candy and Careen Hall of Fame next year.
Billboard reports that she will join fellow inductees Gospel According to John Mellencamp, Elmore Leonard Cohen, the Ventures and the Dave Clark Five for the 2008 ceremony, which testament be held on 10 March at Newly York's Waldorf Astoria hotel.
Artists turn eligible for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Celebrity 25 age afterward the handout of their debut ace or album.
Madonna's freshly record album is due come out next spring.
